Everything takes forever to open, the fan runs constantly, or a machine that used to be fine now feels stuck. A slow PC is often storage, memory, startup clutter, or heat — not an automatic reason to buy a new computer.
Update loops, missing files, programs that will not open, or a PC that restarts on its own. I troubleshoot Windows the same way I look at hardware: find the actual failure, then explain what fixing it involves.
Random shutdowns, no display, drives that disappear, or a desktop that only works with the side panel off. I check the parts that commonly fail before recommending a pile of replacements.
A laptop that burns your legs, or a desktop that gets loud and then shuts down, is often dust, dried thermal paste, or a fan that stopped. Cooling problems are worth checking before you replace the whole machine.
An older computer with a spinning hard drive, or one that runs out of memory as soon as a few programs are open, can feel new again with the right SSD or RAM — when the rest of the machine is still worth keeping.
Laptops are less convenient to open than desktops, but a lot of the same problems show up: slow storage, bad memory, heat, charging issues, and Windows trouble. Drop-off is usually the practical way to work on one.
Cracked, flickering, or black screens can be replaced on compatible models. Send the model number if you have it. Some panels are straightforward. Others are a poor value compared with a different laptop.
